Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer hailing from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to become a member of J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first single was released with the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she began gaining recognition. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet back in 2012 after she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she released further music online including Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes, at Sweat It out on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's music references. Later in the season, the music circulated around Dreamville. The 8th of December was the day she revealed that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track which she co-wrote together with Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. The 21st of October, 2016, the artist released her debut album titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and was an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas as her labelmates. On July 16, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video which debuted on September 5. She released her second single, Grampa on November 9. Then on November 13 two new singles called"No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released with her debut single February 26, 2019, to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared together with Cole in Creed II's sound track. Creed II sound track on November 16. It was released with an accompanying music video that debuted that was released on February 20, 2019 and was viewed by 3 million people on YouTube within one week. In December 2018 she was an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
